Well yesterday it was 96 degrees farenheight at the Terrace Airport which is a at a higher elevation than the city itself and i recorded 100 Degrees at my home in the city. The house stays at around 75 to 80 degrees till about sunset and cools down to around 65 degrees by the next morning with just ceiling fans. The wife and i hang out and do Hobbies in our finished basement where it is a constant 70 degrees. Injoy the weather and drink lots of FLUIDS. Inspector

I'm melting out here too! Looks like no end in sight with the heat wave. Long range forecast shows mid to high thirtys next week too. One bonus for me is that it is not as smoky as it was last week. I was wiping ash off my car only a week ago!

We had some ups & downs:
* On Friday lunchtime we left by motorcycle to Osoyoos: warm but not terrible. * Saturday we rode to Halcyon Hot Springs on Arrow Lake via Castlegar. A large part of the day we spent riding in the rain: the last hour+ before Castlegar we were riding in absolutely pouring rain. Not sure of the temperature, but my bike normally runs @ about 82°C: on this section it dropped down to 60°! Must have been like 15°C! And of course we decided rain suits were not required for this trip! * Sunday rode to Peachland via Vernon. The afternoon was VERY hot: must have been 35°C. On a bike, this pretty much leads to instant dehydration if you are not careful. Hooray for Camelbacks! The beer I had at the Gasthaus in Peachland that evening was something to savour!! * Monday rode back home via the Coquihalla. Lunch in Hope was HOT! * Driving home from work yesterday I saw 38°C on my car's outside thermometer on Highway 99 before the Massey tunnel.
Yep: I do believe the worst of winter is over...
