We are hosting a 6 hr Endurance race on the Suzuka track in Victoria, July 24 - 26 2010.
There will be time for tuning and testing Friday night with the race set to start at 12pm Saturday. Being a 6 hr race there will be time for drivers to make it a day trip on the ferries if you don't want to stay over?
As far as rules are concerned I want to keep them as simple as possible? So Slot.It shoot out rules apply for chassis and body, Tyres are S2 only( if you want to spend a week truing them go ahead!), either the large or small wheels can be used at the rear, any motorpod that will accept the orange end bell motor(only motor allowed) any car found to be "dragging" on the track will be asked to change the set up. No low profile 0zero grips and no Alfa 33/ Ferrari312 front tyres allowed.
Entrance fee is $25 per team.
1. Car Rules:
- Any and all variants of the Slot.it Porsche 956 & Porsche 962, Mercedes Sauber, Jaguar XHR9 & XJR12, Lancia LC2, and Mazda 787B; as well as any further Slot.it Group C cars which might appear on the market prior to the commencement of the race.
- Any replacement of components, or modification to them, must conform with the rules of this Proxy Series.
- The only non-Slot.it parts allowed in this series are paint, glue, lead, screws, and washers/spacers.
- No magnets allowed, other than in the motor, or magnetic suspension if employed.
2. Body Rules:
- Model body must be complete in all parts, and the shape and dimensions must not be modified - no sanding, no drilling, etc, with these exceptions:
- Slot.it light kits may be installed. Whether these are employed or not, the car's original Slot.it headlights and tail light lenses are required.
- Slot.it vacuum formed interiors may be used in place of the original. If so, they must be of the design for the specific car they were made for. Additionally, the driver figure at a minimum must be somewhat realistically painted as appropriate for a scale race car; the windows must remain transparent.
- Slot.it tearproof parts, or other Slot.it replacement parts, may be used in place of the original. If so, they must be of the design specific to the car they were made for. Some variances may be allowed: ask in the Thread if you have a question about this.
- Within the context of the above, entrants are encouraged to include mirrors, antennas, wipers, etc, such as were on the original rtr car. Rear wing is mandatory, and during the course of the series, should damage occur, the rear wing (at a minimum) should be reinstalled at the earliest opportunity - though not during track time.
- Body may be repainted, in whole or in part. Fantasy or actual liveries are permitted. Encouraged, in fact, for those who are so inclined.
- Racing numbers are required on both sides and front end of every car, and must be different on every car; entry submissions must be specific as to car type being entered, and number requested, and different from any prior entrant using that same car.
- Body must be attached to the chassis through the manufacturer provided screw mount posts; these may be externally reinforced using a fabricated metal sleeve or epoxy (including J-B Weld), at the discretion of the entrant.
- Body must be removable, and will be removed at Tech Inspection to ensure compliance with Rules.
- Jaguar skirts over rear wheels may be omitted.
- Complete body with interior and any other sundry attached parts must weigh no less than 19 grams.
- Lead weight may be attached to the body by the entrant. Lead weight will be attached to the body by the Tech Inspector if necessary to bring it into compliance with these Rules.
3. Chassis Rules:
- Model chassis must be complete in all parts, and the shape and dimensions must not be modified - no sanding, no drilling, no slicing/cutting etc, with these exceptions:
- Slot.it alternate chassis variants for the individual cars may be employed, provided that they are model specific. (i.e. No use of any HRS chassis, or installing a Mazda chassis under a 956C body etc.) Entrants are encouraged to consider the latest (Evo/AW) chassis available for their car in order to be as competitive as possible.
- Entrants who do not use the Evo/AW chassis available for their car are permitted very marginal sanding around the circumference of the chassis. Very marginal? It it looks like it has been sanded, then you have probably gone too far. Should the Tech Inspector deem the chassis as not complying with the technical specifications in these rules, it will be replaced by a new off the shelf chassis.
- Maximum external tire to tire width for front wheels is 62.5mm; for rear wheels it's 63.5mm.
- The replacement of virtually all parts with different Slot.it manufactured replacements, and/or the addition of devices such as Slot.it Magnetic Suspension or Spring Suspension is permitted. The installation of a Slot.it lighting system is permitted. Any Slot.it motor mount (pod), any Slot.it axles, Slot.it front axle supports, any Slot.it motor, any Slot.it gears, any Slot.it guide and braids you want to use is fine. Slot.it PA25 stoppers may be employed on the rear axle, which must itself be located in the pod by Slot.it CH14 spherical bushings.
- Lead weight may be attached anywhere on the top side of the chassis.
- Be sure to write your name and indicate any body screw adjustment details on the bottom of the chassis.
Note: If when assembling your car, you feel there is a need for modification to the body and/or chassis that is not encompassed by the rules, please ask about this in the Thread.
4. Motor Rules:
- Only orange end bell Slot.it motor is permitted.
- No changes to, or modifications of, motors is permitted, with the exception of trimming the motor shaft.
- Lead weight may be attached to the motor.
5. Wheel Rules * :

- Setscrew type wheels in any of the 15.8mm, 16.5mm, 17.3mm sizes on rear axle are recommended for test purposes, as, these will be the choices for the race (see below).
